I have my male stop singing while moulting though he, Twitty, is a non stop singer usually.

And my female Whity became so possessive of him and they gotten closer together. He listened to her and they fought rarely.

They are taking showers (baths) twice unlike normal time once daily.

They are always hungry for eggs and they are not interested in lettuce as before.

They flew less by the way I keep their cages open always and they are free. But during molting they just fly in morning time and then rest a lot.

I must say more cleaning for me and I just want it to be over as I missed my male singing all day long 😜

Twitty lost its tail he looks like a baby chicken and Whity bald
But they are getting new beautiful feathers , and they started flying again like airplanes, but still moody 😜

Hi Sarah,

I think all of us here can agree that we would like our canaries to sing all year round. But, unfortunately we have to wait for the end of the molt.

It sounds like everything is normal for your birds...more rest than usual and a change in food preference.
