Another tip for a comfy exercise perch...drift wood that is on the beach.

It has smooth surfaces with bumpy nodules. It has no bark. I rinse it in clean water to remove salt first. It makes a great adventure exercise canary cage perch and relieves boredom.

My canary chooses this perch over his traditional canary cage perch! Keep a look out next time at the beach.

Sounds like a good idea to me. For those of us who are land-locked, I think driftwood can be found at craft stores.

Thanks Ray!

Looking for the right cage
by: Rita

I just got my canary and the cage I have him in, I think is too tall and not long enough. Where can I find the perfect cage for my sweet boy?
Any help is appreciated. Everywhere I have looked, they show tall cages, but not long ones. I did find a long finch cage. Would that work?

Found the Perfect Canary
...And We Have Driftwood

by: Anonymous

I have always owned large parrots, cockatoos, macaws, etc. A few yrs. ago I sold all my parrots except one at a bird show. They all got to pick their new "slaves". So for the last 16 yrs. it has been me and Sassy my Moluccan Too.

My 17 yr. old grandson and my son came down from Salem OR. to paint our house here in CA. When they came they brought with them a tiny yellow/orangeish canary. It had flown into their garage and would not leave. It was young and banded. They tried to find the owners, but with no success.

Anyway, to make a long story short, I fell in love with this little fluff of weightless feathers.

Here in Crescent City, CA. we have a lot of driftwood.. What a good idea!!!
